About
Aires Libres is an artistic, festive and contemporary pedestrian zone in the LGBTQ+ Gay Village, which is set up in the summertime in downtown Montreal. Our mandate: to establish an identifiable, modern and flexible visual identity to highlight the program for Aires Libres's 12th edition, produced by Nicolas Denicourt. Above all, our strategy needed to be customizable to suit different artists, events and display formats.
The graphic design featured pastels and reds, but what truly defined it was the division of the two-dimensional space. We used an approach that viewed space from a linear perspective. It also allowed each graphic element to be seen as one component of a whole, for individual pieces to be recognized as parts of a single, larger event.
Result
Our colourful work for the 12th edition of Aires Libres earned an Applied Arts Award in the Entire Design Program category.
