About
The impressive Meydan Racecourse, located in the United Arab Emirates, hosts one of the biggest events in the region: the Dubai World Cup, a horse racing event held annually since 1996. The opening and closing ceremonies were watched by over 60,000 people in the audience, in addition to viewers throughout the world.
Baillat Studio was mandated to create video content for the monumental show, which was created by Cirque du Soleil. Our field of action was a screen stretched out above the desert. The visuals, richly textured illuminations and astral, psychedelic arabesques enhanced the set design and performances, with fireworks providing the final flourish. The textures were combined with equestrian imagery, culminating with the showing of a short animated film created with 4U2C featuring the story of a girl who becomes a horsewoman.
The opening and closing ceremonies of the Dubai World Cup were watched by 60,000 spectators in the audience along with TV viewers around the world.
