A Cirque du Soleil performance was dedicated to Lionel Messi, soccer's greatest-ever number 10. This meeting of soccer and circus arts offered the audience a fully immersive experience. Baillat Studio was responsible for directing the video content and production.
The Studio created the set design for two giant double-sided screens. These independent, mobile screens were integrated with the stage centre, forming a moving horizontal monolith. Projections were not only used to enhance the set: live performances alternated with sequences where the screens became the main feature of the experience.
Results
The "Messi10" show was first performed in the Argentine soccer player's adopted city of Barcelona, before stops in Qatar and, naturally, Buenos Aires. In Barcelona, the show was performed 60 times, attracting over 100,000 spectators.
